The kidneys are the principal organ that removes excess acids from the body, and maintain a pH between 6.75 and 7.25. Many degenerative diseases, eg. certain cancers, heart disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, kidney failure, gall stones, causes the acidity of the body to rise. An abnormal body pH could be a warning sign of such diseases, and as the disease progress, the body pH becomes more acidic. It is advisable to regularly test the pH of your body, it is easy to achieve reliable and easy-to-read results using our Narrow Range pH test paper pH 4.5-9.0 designed for in-vitro diagnostic test of urine and saliva. The normal pH of the saliva should be between 7.0 to 7.5, and that of urine is around 6.5 to 7.5 If your values are both consistently too acidic (below 6.5) or too alkaline (above 7.5), you may wish to consult your doctor for an investigation. How to carry out the test Saliva pH Take readings 1 hour before and 1 hour after meals. The reading after meal should be more alkaline (higher) than before eating. Both should be above pH 6.5. A reading below 6.5 indicates your mineral reserves in the body is low. Urine pH Take a mid-stream urine reading of your second urination in the morning. The pH level usually increases slightly as the day progress. Our pH test paper These pH test papers are designed specifically for in-vitro diagnostic use for urine and saliva pH. They are most accurate thanks to the unique two-colour segments combination indicator system. This system allows you to distinguish easily between neighbouring graduations, which are often very similar in colour in traditional single colour pH papers. The dipstick design also makes it very convenient and hygienic in use. It prevents contamination of both the fingers and the test paper strip. They are preferred by many physicians. These are non-bleeding grade test strips, the colours do not 'run' from the test pads. Each box contains 80 dipsticks test strips. A colour comparison chart is printed on the insert of the box. The container closes tightly and preserves the quality of the test papers. Excellent quality and accuracy. Check your pH values and stay in the know of your health. The pH test results only represent the acidity/alkalinity of your bodily fluids and may not be a true indicator of your health. It is advisable to consult your doctor if your pH test results are not within the normal range, but even when your pH test results are normal you are advised to receive body checks regularly and to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
